The first Kurdish horse festival

Under the supervision of Mr. Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in coordination with Sewar Organization, the first Kurdish Horse Festival was held on November 14, 2023, at the new campus of Sulaimani University.

This event marked a significant celebration of Kurdish culture and heritage, showcasing the unique and majestic Kurdish horse breed. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including horse parades, cultural exhibitions, and expert talks on the history and characteristics of the Kurdish horse. The festival highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting this distinguished breed, fostering a deeper appreciation for the region’s rich equine traditions.
